First Hometown Heroes Touch-A-Truck Event
Hometown Contractors, Inc. hosted a Hometown Heroes Touch-A-Truck event for the first time, bringing the community together for a day of family activities, meet-and-greets with local first responders, tasty eats, and lasting memories. With a total of over 600 attendees who had such a blast, our event was a major success! We also held a big window giveaway for hurricane season preparedness—up to $20,000 worth of HTC ProView Plus impact windows! Guests even got to see just how sturdy our impact windows are with several window smashing demonstrations, featuring Hometown’s owner Paul Kasischke and first responders.
The event welcomed several emergency departments from Santa Rosa County, including Pace Fire Rescue District, Avalon Fire Rescue District, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT team, Lifeguard Ambulance Services, and Medstar-Lifeguard AirCare’s helicopter. We appreciate each department’s service to our community and their attendance at our event! Serving good food and sweet treats were CreativBowls, Waffle Boutique, Kona Ice of Greater Pensacola, and Chick-fil-A. LUMA by MELA and The Makery also provided breakfast and coffee for the staff and first responders!
The window demonstrations were certainly one of the most entertaining parts of the event. HTC’s owner kicked off the impact window smashing but could not break through our sturdy windows until almost 20 hits with a baseball bat! This demonstration shows not only the strength of our impact windows for hurricane season but also against intruders. We even had a competition between Pace Fire and the SWAT team to find out which special tool could break the windows fast enough in the event of an emergency, and both tools broke the windows in just a few strikes.
One lucky person also won our impact window giveaway – a big congratulations to Noel H.! Hometown will be installing up to $20,000 worth of our impact windows just in time for hurricane season.
