In the past decade, the amount of ‘do-it-yourselfers’ in the world have increased due to the amount of information available on the internet. It seems that with a click of a button a civilian can learn the art of military warfare, or a city slicker can learn the proper way to bait a hook.  Suddenly everyone is an expert on everything.

It is important for a society to recognize when a project can be done by an amateur and when it requires professional knowledge learned from a trade and years of experience.  Home remodeling definitely requires trained installers with proper expertise. State regulations and insurance requirements are bearing down on homeowners. It is important for the safety of a homeowner and the family that all regulations and rules are properly followed.

Hometown Contractors, Inc. is a licensed, exterior remodeling company that specializes in sunrooms, screen rooms, patio covers, replacement windows, replacement siding and more.  With over 16 years of being in business, it is easy to see the quality and craftsmanship in all of the work done by Hometown Contractors, Inc.

“Recently, we were replacing the windows on a home in downtown Pensacola that had had their windows replaced not too long ago. Due to poor craftsmanship and unprofessional installation, the windows had to be replaced again by the new owners,” explained Paul Kasischke, owner of the business. “While removing the old windows, our installer found a plastic container left in the wall by the company that had installed the windows before us. They had put it there to catch the rain from the leaking windows. They knew they had installed the windows wrong, but they tried to hide their mistake.”

The previous homeowners more than likely had the windows installed by an unprofessional installer without the proper credentials, and it was evident in their workmanship.

“We had to put in extra days at the job site,” said installer Mike P.  “When I pulled out the first window, the entire wall nearly collapsed due to wood rot.” Hometown Contractors, Inc. took the time and effort to make sure all of the old windows and the rotten wood were completely replaced. They had everything properly permitted and inspected by the city to make sure the job was up to code. This is something that Hometown Contractors, Inc. does with all of their jobs.

“Following rules and regulations set up by the state and insurance companies is not something we do just because it is required of us,” Said Paul. “We do this for the safety of our customers. We believe we have been in business for so many years because we treat our customers fairly.  I am a homeowner myself, and I know how much I value my home and my family. We extend that same value towards our customers.”
