Walk-in bathtubs

Also known as safety tubs are both easier and safer to get into then a conventional bath tub. Designed with safety as the focal point, walk-in bathtubs contain a door built into the side or front of the tub. The door is designed to seal shut so that no water escapes. The user opens the door and simply walks into the tub or transfers from a wheelchair through the door into the tub. The bottom of the tub below the door is usually only about 4-6 inches high, making access safer and easier than a conventional tub.

Walk-in safety tubs, or handicapped tubs, are commonly used by people suffering from arthritis, wheelchair users, those with disabilities, elderly people or anybody who can't safely step over the side of a conventional tub.
